AMBULANCE TASK FORCE
2-21-2000
Present:

Norm Orr Ken Olson
Emergency Services Committee Chairman Ken Olson formed this task force as a forum
to discuss the issue of ambulance staffing.
Ambulance Director Jan Faught stated that she would be seeking daytime employment
and that would cause an ambulance staffing shortage on days. Jan stated that she could
still be Ambulance Director but has to find daytime employment to meet her financial
needs.
Pat asked about getting this information out to the public in hopes of more involvement
from citizens to support staffing. Jan said that would help but that would take time and
she needs to start looking for a job in the very near future. Ken stated that this issue
would be brought up at the next Emergency Services Committee meeting and the next
Council meeting. The task force suggested that the paper could run an article. Jan said
she would look into that. Jan also stated that she would contact AMR of Billings to
discuss how they could cover during the times when Laurel was short of staff. The task
force agreed that getting the word out to the public is one way to address that issue and
more discussion will be held at the next Emergency Services Committee meeting.
