The purpose of the meeting was to provide a recommendation to the Laurel City Council for the special
meeting regarding the contractors bids on the Water Treatment Plant Project.
Dave Mosser presented and explained the possibility of accepting Schedule I of the bids which covers the
water line replacement and rejecting Schedule II which covers the upgrade of the plant. Discussion
indicated that funding might not be available by the end of the 60 day deadline for the bid at which time the
price of the contract would be left to negotiation with the contractor.
It was motioned, seconded and passed to reject Schedule II and proceed with a new bid process on the time
schedule proposed by Morrison Mairle.
The motion and second to accept Schedule I failed.
The recommendation to the Laurel City Council then is to reject all bids and proceed with a new bidding
process on the time schedule proposed by Morrison Mairle.
