Bud brought up for discussion a city Council work session regarding
zoning. It was decided to schedule one for Tuesday, November 12th
at 7:00 p.m..
Gay commented that the training session with Dick Larsen was very
good and he got a lot out of it.
William mentioned that several other people have complained to him
about junky yards on the east end of town. Jim commented that
before the City can do anything, it has to be a violation. Just
because someone has a messy yard, doesn't mean there is a violation
of some kind, such as a fire, safety, or health hazard. This will
be reviewed by the Street & Alley Committee.
Mr. Staudinger wants to leave the state and this will be brought up
at the council meeting tonight.
Andy reported that the fence has been put back up and the gate
wired shut at the Martin property where the Merchant Apartments
burned down. Mr. Martin will be billed for this.
Dan Mears has been hired as the new mechanic.
Jim distributed and reviewed the DPW Update of 11-6-96.
Rick said that the Police Department is in the process of hiring
two new officers (to replace Connors and Conrad).
The Police Department is trying to serve papers daily to Jim
Martin, but he won't answer the door or he is not there.
Chuck Rodgers mentioned that the City received an excellent report
from the State regarding the Sewer Plant.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:46 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Don Hackmann
