COUNCIL CHAMBERS MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman, Chuck Rodgers Ron Marshall Chuck Dickerson Albert Ehrlick Gay Easton Donna Kilpatrick John Minch Bob Graham Lonnie Kellogg OTHERS PRESENT: V. Joe Leckie D. L. McGillen Mike Atkinson Dave Michael Cathy Gabrian Rick Musson Chuck Dickerson distributed a list for possibly combining some of our committees for 1996. It is hard to get people to serve on committees and sometimes there is not a lot taking place in the committees. He feels that it would be more efficient to combine some committees and make seven instead of fifteen different ones. Chuck questioned why the underpass is not being swept between storms. He understood that if the temperature is above 28 degrees, we could sweep. Chuck Rodgers said the city was sweeping the underpass today and it is on a regular schedule to be swept. A comment that the state wants us to clean it and they will reimburse us for it. If the sand and dirt become really heavy, they will pitch in and help us clean it. Gay agreed that some of the committees could be consolidated. Dave stated that today a contractor working at the refinery broke one of our main sewer lines leading to the plant. Dave said the underpass contract with the state has been signed and delivered so hopefully we will see some progress shortly. Darrell McGillen stated the Fire Department is going to decorate the corner of the vacant lot, which is adjacent to the FAP, for Christmas. They will put their large tree on the corner instead of in front of the FAP. Darrell reported that engine #4 has been fixed. Damages ran about $ 1,500.00 and the claim is being submitted to the insurance company and there is a $ 100.00 deductible. In regard to combining committees, Chuck said some of them may be able to be combined successfully but others will not, due to the length of the meetings. i J Chuck reported that Rom Bushnell has moved out of state and the position on the Historical Preservation Board will be open at the end of the year. If anyone is interested in filling the position or knows of someone who would be interested, please let him know. Chuck said Rom would still like to serve with us in some capacity and hopes to some day return to Montana. Darrell stated Larry McCann is still doing the fire inspections. Since the treasurer is still out of the office, he has been getting his information from Jeanette in the clerk's office. The meeting was adjourned at 6:47 p.m. Respectfully submitted, r ` Cathy Gabrian Deputy City Clerk
