COUNCIL CHAMBERS MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman- Chuck Rodgers Ron Marshall Chuck Dickerson Albert Ehrlick Gay Easton John Minch Bob Graham OTHERS PRESENT: V. Joe Leckie D.L. McGillen Mike Atkinson Jim Flisrand Don Hackmann Chuck Dickerson said that hopefully by Thursday night, March 16th, there will be something put together for the Street and Alley Committee regarding an SID in Murray Heights. Chuck also mentioned that starting next month the Public Utilities Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. Albert commended Jim and the crew for the good job they did in demolishing the buildings on the City owned Williams property. Discussion regarding the use of this land until such time as the City builds on it. Jim distributed and reviewed the DPW update of 3-7-95. Jim reported that he received correspondence from the State regarding Solid Waste Landfill. Chuck Rodgers reported that Dave Michael is attending a boiler class on Tuesday nights. Mike mentioned that on south 5th Street that there are no 15 m.p.h. signs in front of the South School and also in front of the Yellowstone Valley Christian School. Mike also reported that he was contacted today by a lady from Family Services. She talked to Mike and the Court Clerk regarding Michelle Herren for about 2 hours. Darrell McGillen also commended Jim and the city crew for a job well done in reviewing the buildings on the Williams property. Joe reported that he will be out of town from March 11th through March 15th. Continued our weekly pothole patching program. 2. Equipment maintenance. 3. Sweeping downtown area, when weather permits. 4. Assisting other divisions within the Public Works Department. 5. Barricade building and repair. 6. Sanding streets as required. PARKS & CEMETERY 1. Winter maintenance continuing as required. 2. Assisting other divisions as necessary. 3. Equipment maintenance in preparation for spring and summer activity. WATER & SEWER 1. Continuing meter replacement and testing program. 2. Plants continuing with normal treatment and maintenance activities. 3. Water and sewer maintenance (manhole, valves, and curb boxes) 4. Jet rodding program in progress. 5. Water & Sewer maps updated to assure accuracy. 6. Water Improvements Project continuing with contract preparation. SOLID WASTE 1. Proceeding with collection and container site operation as required. 2. Continuing to work with consultants to resolve our situation concerning the old landfill. City is waiting for State Health and Environmental Sciences opinion following our February 9, 1995 meeting. (Received letter February 28, 1995 from State, however Mr. Robinson told the City to ignore the letter, he would send another) 3. Have completed demolition of three buildings on City property- lst Street West and Second Avenue. ADMINISTRATION 1. Building activity continuing with plan review and misc. inspections. 2. Continue work with each division on scheduling of work, coordination and individual responsibilities. 3. Continuing with development of City wide safety program. Monthly safety meetings are being scheduled with all concerned. Scheduled safety meeting held on March 2nd at 11:00 to 3:30 p.m. and on March 3rd 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, was well received. Presentation was given by MMIA on Public Works Defensive Driving, twenty-four employees attended. Certifications will be given.
