COUNCIL CHAMBERS MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman- Chuck Rodgers Ron Marshall Gay Easton Albert Ehrlick Donna Kilpatrick John Minch Lonnie Kellogg Bob Graham OTHERS PRESENT: V. Joe Leckie Jim Flisrand Mike Atkinson Don Hackmann Dave Michael John Minch reported that the boards have been removed from the house at 506 Birch Avenue, per her (Michelle Herren) request. It is rumored that she is getting the house ready for sale. Jim Flisrand distributed and reviewed the public works update, dated 1-3-95. Dave Michael reported that he will meet with Double-Tree tomorrow regarding the Water Plant and systems project and get some projected figures for rate increases. Don Hackmann mentioned that the National Park Service will be holding a public meeting/hearing in the Council Chambers on 2-17-95 at 7:00 p.m. Mike Atkinson said they are short two dispatchers, due to extended illnesses and it is causing considerable overtime. Cheryl Thomas is having surgery and Jo Meccage is off for an indefinite time. Discussion regarding hiring a temporary dispatcher or possibly getting a retired dispatcher to fill in for awhile. Also, Mike mentioned that Red Lodge might have someone who could help us out for a period of time. Chuck Rodgers said that he has one appointment tonight, City Attorney for 2 years. Chuck also mentioned that we are approaching budget time and if you have any ideas, give them to Jim or himself. There are two ordinances tonight regarding the ambulance service. GQe- Don Hackmann, City Clerk "r FROM: Jim Flisrand, Director of Public Works TO: Mayor and City Council DATE: January 3, 1995 SUBJECT: Public Works- UPDATE STREET & ALLEY 1. Continued pothole patching 2. Equipment maintenance. 3. Winter maintenance continuing as required. 4. Assiting other divisions within the Public Works Department. PARKS & RECREATION 1. Continuing to work on the ice pond, when weather permits. 2. Totaled 48 grave openings during 1994. 3. Winter maintenance continuing as required. WATER & SEWER 1. The water crew has repaired 29 water leaks throughout this past calendar year with a total cost of $20,144.48. Average leak ranges from $600.00 to $650.00. 2. Continuing meter testing program. 3. Plants continuing with normal treatment and maintenance activities. 4. Double Tree, Morrison/Maierle CSSA and staff are working to prepare a preliminary report for the public meeting currently scheduled for Jan. 18, 1995 at 7:00 p.m., City Hall. SOLID WASTE 1. Proceeding with collection and container site operation as required. 2. Continuing to work with consultants to resolve our situation concerning the old landfill. A meeting with the Solid Waste Bureau will be scheduled in the near future. ADMINISTRATION 1. Building activity continuing with plan review and misc. inspections. 2. Continue work with each division 'on scheduling of work, coordination and individual responsibilities. 3. Continuing to work with Department of Labor and Industry on resolving their points of concern following their inspection earlier this year.
