Bob Graham was approached about the possibility in our city license
structure to recommend a dramatic change. That is to have a one
flat $100.00 fee to do business in Laurel. Included in that fee
would be an annual fire inspection. Bob does not want to discuss
it at this time, but it will be discussed at the next license
committee meeting and he wanted the council to be thinking about
it.
Ron Marshall mentioned that he had a problem in his neighborhood,
he called the police department, and with the help and cooperation
of Joe Leckie the problem was taken care of today. Ron said that
if the police department does know about a problem they will take
care of it.
Donna Kilpatrick mentioned that the Little League is ready to paint
a building in the park and they would like some paint that would
match the color of the concession stand. Jim will check on this.
John Rosenberg said that the police committee will meet on October
27th at 5:00 p.m. to review a computer program written by someone
in Billings.
Jim Flisrand reported that a meeting which was scheduled with the
State Solid Waste Department on October 19th, regarding our
landfill has been canceled.
They may come at a later date, but it didn't sound very promising.
Chuck Rodgers said that the State picked and set the date for the
meeting and now they canceled it.
Don reported on the Montana League of Cities and Towns convention
in Butte on October 6th and 7th. Next year the convention will be
in Billings at the Holiday Inn the first week in October.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
Res ectfully submitted,
