CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE
JULY/9' 1994 6:30 P.M.
CRNCIL CHAMBERS

The Mayor stated the two ordinances for the Director of
Public Works and the Maintenance Director are not ready
because of printer problems so they will be tabled until the
next meeting.
Albert complained about the mowers that are sitting on the
sidewalks and it was stated -that this is an item on the
agenda tonight.
It was reported that Richard Larsen will be in the council
chambers tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. to review the policy and
procedures manual.
John Minch reported that the police department is required
to take injured animals to the vet and this could really add
up in vet bills. Three animals were taken to the vet in the
last week.
Discussion and it was stated that the animal rights groups
will not allow us to do away with injured animals anymore so
we are having to take them to a vet.
The Mayor stated that we should try and get a hold of Vicki
Brester first and if she is not available, then take the
animal to the vet. The Mayor asked the Police Committee to
study this issue.
It was reported that there is a water leak on East 8th
Street and nothing has been done about it. Dave stated that
contractors have been in to the office inquiring about it
but it is outside the city and the line is a private service
line.
The preliminary budget was distributed and the Mayor asked
the council to look it over. A public hearing will be held
on August 2nd.
The council was informed that all minutes will now be put in
their mailboxes so they have a chance to read them before

the council meeting. If they are still in the boxes when
the agenda is mailed, they will be sent with the agenda.
The meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
