A comment was made about all the dandelions in the parks. We need
to get something organized now to take care of the problem in the
future, such as sending someone to a school to get a license for
spraying.
A question was asked if anyone has checked on the gravel removal
from the curb and streets in Alder Ridge. Dave said that he has
not been out there, but he will check it out.

The lawn by the buildings that need to be torn down (old Williams
property) is getting pretty tall.
Lonnie asked the council what their thoughts are regarding the city
crew tearing the buildings down in December and January. Weather
Permitting John thought that the crew could do it. This will be
checked into further.
The weeds are getting pretty long at the old Merchant apartments
and at Jim Martin's property. He should be sent a letter.
Don suggested that the city get their own weeds cut before sending
letters to other people.
Bob mentioned that Loren Frank, President of the Cove Ditch
Company, feels that the city is not paying their fair share of the
Cove Ditch costs and he is concerned that the city is using more
water than they require. He maintains that when we irrigate at the
cemetery the ditch goes almost dry and that the farmers east of
there do not get enough water.
Dave said that he will be going to the ditch company's meeting on
the first Wednesday of next month (June 1st).
The city only useE a 4" pump to water the cemetery.

Judy McNally was present and addressed the council regarding the
certified local government program, which works with historic
preservation.
Regarding the old wrecked police car, Mike had checked with
wrecking yards and the average price was $500 to $550, there is a
person interested in purchasing it.
Mike indicated that the Merchant Apartments are unsafe and should
be secured. Dave said that it would take up to 40 sheets of
plywood to cover the doors and windows on the ground level.
Something needs to be done, because people have been going into the
building and it is unsafe.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:44 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Don Hackmann
City Clerk
