COUNCIL CHAMBERS MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman- Chuck Rodgers Ron Marshall Chuck Dickerson Albert Ehrlick Gay Easton John Minch Donna Kilpatrick Bob Graham Lonnie Kellogg OTHERS PRESENT: V. Joe Leckie Don Hackmann Mike Atkinson Dave Michael John Minch said that Terry Fink at the Caboose Saloon wants to know if they can close South 7th Avenue on Saturday, July 2nd from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.. They are going to unveil a life size bronze horse and cowboy statue. He also wants to barricade an area by Thomson Park after the parade on July 4th so that the band that they have in the parade can sit up there and entertain for a couple of hours. This will be brought up at the regular council meeting. Gay Easton said that someone from Alder Ridge talked to him about cleaning the streets out there. Lonnie said that there is some concern out there about gravel hitting cars. The man came up with the idea of putting a metal plate from the asphalt to the top of the cement. Discussion regarding different types of curb and gutters around the City. The street and alley committee will review this further. Gay commended the City's garbage and police department for the work they did during aviation week. Lonnie mentioned that it was brought to his attention that when the juror's go eat during a court trial, the food bill is paid but no gratuity is added on and the waitresses were complaining. Lonnie said he will check with Larry Herman. Mike Atkinson said that aviation week went real well. They had no problems out of the ordinary. Chuck said that he talked with George Kline at Mrs. Blaine's place and that during the last couple of rains the dip on the north side of the ditch worked well. We do need to address cleaning the ditch area. The meeting was adjourned at 6:42 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Don Hackmann City Clerk
