COUNCIL CHAMBERS MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman- Chuck Rodgers Ron Marshall Norman Orr Albert Ehrlick Gay Easton Donna Kilpatrick L.D. Collins Bob Graham OTHERS PRESENT: Joe Bradley D.L. McGillen mike Atkinson Peggy Schram Vicki Metzger Dave Michael Sharon Herman Albert commented that the underpass drain is working pretty good now. Chuck said that there is apparently still some blockages in the line, but hopefully that will get corrected. Donna and Dave reported on park maintenance which needs to be done by next spring. • Mike reported that the new dispatch center should be installed in about 10 days. Discussion regarding transients in our parks. Mike suggested the possibility of having a $2.00 park user fee. The real problem seems to be in Firemen's Park. More study needs to be done on this. The log cabin in Firemen's Park is also deteriorating pretty bad and needs alot of repairs and maintenance. Vicki reported that there is a License Committee meeting tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. Dave reported that the County will start their vehicle registration service at City Hall the first week in October. Peggy reported that the Garbage Committee met and gave approval for GEO Research to finish their work on Monitoring, final closure plans and final hydrogeologic study on the old landfill. The final study is going to be late and she hopes that the state will go along with it. That is the reason the committee didn't go with Morrison & Maierle because it would delay it further. Peggy will sign the final papers on September 10th to go ahead and finish the project. Then we will see what the state comes back with to see how much more monitoring we need to do. • Chuck said that this monitoring is going to cost a minimum of $18,653.00. 1W., The street chip sealing project is completed. There have been many good comments about the recent street work. They are starting on the Spruce Grove project now. Norman reported that he has had complaints about the bushes being to high and you can't see around them at the corner of 7th Avenue and Maryland Lane, where there was a recent car accident. Donna requested that the area in Thomson Park where the Herbstfest tent is put up, be graded and graveled.
