Albert commented that the underpass drain is working pretty good
now. Chuck said that there is apparently still some blockages in
the line, but hopefully that will get corrected.
Donna and Dave reported on park maintenance which needs to be done
by next spring.
• Mike reported that the new dispatch center should be installed in
about 10 days.
Discussion regarding transients in our parks. Mike suggested the
possibility of having a $2.00 park user fee. The real problem
seems to be in Firemen's Park. More study needs to be done on
this. The log cabin in Firemen's Park is also deteriorating pretty
bad and needs alot of repairs and maintenance.
Vicki reported that there is a License Committee meeting tomorrow
at 5:00 p.m.
Dave reported that the County will start their vehicle registration
service at City Hall the first week in October.
Peggy reported that the Garbage Committee met and gave approval for
GEO Research to finish their work on Monitoring, final closure
plans and final hydrogeologic study on the old landfill. The final
study is going to be late and she hopes that the state will go
along with it. That is the reason the committee didn't go with
Morrison & Maierle because it would delay it further.
Peggy will sign the final papers on September 10th to go ahead and
finish the project. Then we will see what the state comes back
with to see how much more monitoring we need to do.
• Chuck said that this monitoring is going to cost a minimum of
$18,653.00.
1W.,
The street chip sealing project is completed. There have been many
good comments about the recent street work. They are starting on
the Spruce Grove project now.
Norman reported that he has had complaints about the bushes being
to high and you can't see around them at the corner of 7th Avenue
and Maryland Lane, where there was a recent car accident.
Donna requested that the area in Thomson Park where the Herbstfest
tent is put up, be graded and graveled.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Sharon Herman
Deputy City Clerk
