BUDGET/FINANCE COMMITTEE
JANUARY 18, 1994 4:30 P.M.

Don presented the 1994-95 budget calendar.
Discussion regarding cash transfers to Capital Project Fund.
5 Motion by Bob Graham, seconded by Ron Marshall, to transfer
Xdr $25,000 from the State Gas Tax Fund to Capital Project Fund- Street
NO Equipment. Motion carried.

State law permits third class cities to expend up to 256 of their
annual allotment to purchase capital equipment to be used for
maintenance and repair of streets and alleys.
• Motion by Bob Graham, seconded by Ron Marshall, to transfer
$15,000 of the tax revenue collected in the General Fund to Capital
Project Fund- Computer. Motion carried. The intent of this is to
purchase new computer equipment for the Police Department.
Motion by Bob Graham, seconded by Ron Marshall, to transfer

$10,000 of Fire Department Contract Revenue.
Discussed needed repairs to the swimming pool. This will be a
major project with very limited funds available. Funding for
repair, or possibly a new pool, was discussed. Possibly a fund
drive could be held or a G.O. Bond issue, if approved by the
voters.
Another Avenue looked at was the possibility of the school district
incorporating a new pool into their building plans, with the City
sharing in part of the cost.
Purchase requisitions were approved as follows:
GENERAL FUND
10 cases of computer paper $ 372.50
Administrative rules of Montana 250.00
One set of Montana Code Books for the
City Attorney 278.00
Senior Helping Hands Program 400.00
Laurel Senior Citizen's Center 300.00
