CITY HALL MEMBERS PRESENT Norm Stamper-Chairman Luanne Engh Ken Olson Chuck Rodgers Wallace Hall OTHERS PRESENT: Kurt Markegard Norm Stamper called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Public Input: No comments. Cathy Gabrian Drilling of Flower Pot Holes in Veteran's Section. Chuck and Dick contacted three companies to give us bids for drilling a 3 ''/Z" hole for flower pots in the Veteran sections. We received bids from two companies. The bids are as follows: 1. Yellowstone Concrete Cutting, inc. 160-3'/2" cores thru 5" deep cement .......................... $ 20.00 each 2. Precision Concrete Cutting 160 3 ''/z" holes and spray top of concrete with water ......... $ 28.50 each if needed to be pressure washed off, add ........................ $ 160.00 Drill holes deeper and add gravel, additional ....................$1,950.00 Discussion about whether we need to dig holes the additional 6" to put gravel in. Norm didn't feel it was necessary and that there will be adequate drainage. Kurt said we can do it this way and if there is a problem, our workers can take a cordless drill and drill them out further, for a lot less than $1950.00. With the summer season gearing up, Norm wants a decision made so it can go forward to council workshop and we can schedule to have this done before the cutters' schedules are full. We would need a small service agreement that will have a contract expiration date. We usually give contractors 90-days to complete the project. Motion by Luanne, seconded by Wally to proceed with making a recommendation to the council to go with the bid from Yellowstone Concrete Cutting, Inc. for cutting 160 flower holes at $20.00 each in the Veteran sections. Motion carried. It was stated this money will come from the funds set aside from the sale of the land. Chuck said the veterans would like an area in our cemetery, possibly with benches, where people can sit and reflect. Mayor Olson said that when the land was sold, there was an agreement with the Rosselot family to give them six burial plots and an area for a memorial to Dr. Rosselot. Kurt stated the new water system still has problems and they have not successfully had a good test of the system. He would like to see us put a valve in to connect to this system, but keep our current one in place and not abandon it. That way, if they continue to have problems, we still have our current irrigation system. Cemetery Commission Meeting June 4, 2009 Page 2. Norm spoke about the possibility of phasing in a sprinkling system. This would be more affordable and hopefully get it started. The Yellowstone Veteran's Cemetery Board will be meeting on Thursday, June 11`h at 8:00 a.m. and Norm will try to attend that meeting and bring information forward to our next meeting. Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 18th at 5:30 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m. Respectfully Submitted, Cathy Gabrian
