historical buildings) Cynthia Ware
Approval of last weeks minutes and will continue to send to City Council Members as in
the past. Discussion of Emily (Emelie) Eaton's e-mail and petty criticism of past minutes
and spelling errors will not stop us from submitting minutes to The Mayor and City
Council Members as we had done in the past.
Sara Adamson advised us of the 70 buildings plus the Old Middle School and the Church
that will be surveyed for such things as brick work, wood work, transoms and doors on
buildings before 1959. She went thru a very educational program showing us the "good"
and "bad" buildings and how they may qualify for federal and state tax credits as well as
helping the entire downtown preserve and enhance the Western Image we should be
looking for. Randy Hafer of High Plains Architects might be helpful to bring in to give
further insight and direction to the downtown. Try looking into our image currently vs.
creating a new on such as "strip mall" type plans.
Her survey report will be due early fall.
Surveys will be taken to Rock the Block.
The water and sewer extension are still on the front burner to help with financial help.
The price is being calculated and should be presented soon. Great West should be getting
the city the best direction the water and sewer should go. There are steps being taken
with the Railroad to get a long term lease for the City to manage and develop the south
side of Main Street.
The pedestrian overpass shown in Street Scape is a possible idea for a grant as a "walk
able community"
