A quorum, ( 3 or more) present the following action was taken by the
committeet
CLD BUSINESS:
The work is being done on the alley between 7th & Sth Avenue and West 5th & 6th
Street with the property- owners that need culvert using their own.
The culverts are being placed on 3rd, lath, 5th, & 6th Avenue as the time permits.
Mr Peterson was instructed by the committee to shoot some grades along Penns.
Avenue and East 6th Street to se if some diversion of water can be done to
divert runoff water from Colorado Avenue and East from ending up on the corner
of Birch Avenue and East 4th Street, The T-Alley that was ditched on Birch Avenue
seems to be working, but will be checked again.
There were no people present fom the Laurmac Lane area which was sent letters
to cleanup their alleys. The south alley has been graded as it was fairly weal
cleaned. Motion by Mr Carter and seconded by ft- Peterson that the people on the
north alley be given warnings to be delivered by the Police Department if they
do not clean their alley of their personal items and if this does not work then
citations be issued. Motion passed subject to council approval.
NEW BUSINESSt
Mr F.ngh was given a variance by the committee to build a temporary fence along
his sidewalk to cure the seepage problem that is detiorating his sidewalk and
not allowing his grass to grow, This problem will be checked by the City to
see if this may be a solution to a serious problem in this area. His address
is 1033 7th Avenue.
Motion by Mr Herr and seconded by Mr Peterson that the Chairman go to the
Budget and Finance Committee for the purchase of a roller that is needed before
any type of street program can be started. Motion carried.
Motion by Mr Peterson & seconded by Mr Carter that a residential street sweeping
program be started using State Gas Tax Money for operator and equipment. Motion
carried. Also to see council to see about the hiring of someone.
