A quorum (3 or more) present the following action was taken by
the committee: T. Curtis McKenzie
PROPOSED SID Much discussion on proposed SID #109 - Beartooth
between the Big Ditch and 14th. The hangup is the street width
and excess water runoff and curb and gutter. Laurel's standard
street width is 48 ft. The Big Ditch won't accept any more excess
water runoff. The residents want the City to pay for the curb
and gutter and bill the residents for it. Jim says the City
doesn't have the funds to do that now. The residents say they
can only afford a 37 ft. wide street as it would be approximately
$1,000.00 per lot cheaper than a 48 ft. street. The committee
recommends they check into the ditch company and the water run
off and see what can be worked out there, and we will present
the problems to the Council for direction.
HANDICAP PARKING Jim is having Joe check on a handicap parking
ordinance. Some places may be better to have a loading, unloading
zone instead of handicapped parking, for private enterprises.
OVERLAY BY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT Jim was asked by the Highway Depart-
ment about maybe having excess signs in the City limits that can
come down before the overlayment in the spring. Jim is working
on this.
Meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
