A. Members present: Chairman . Mel Krug
Jim Flisrand . Richard Herr _ L. D. Collins, Chuck Dickerson
B. Other's present: Chip Watts Don Meyers
A quorum (3 or more) present the following action was taken by
the committee:
Chip Watts was concerned about the traffic after softball games
at Fir and E. 6th St. when Fir is put in. He asked about leaving
Fir closed. Jim will see what the Council passed and get back
to him on it.
Jim will do some more checking on the Local Option.Motor Fuel
Tax. There was no dollar amount or percentage amount given on
what Laurel might receive, so at this time we offer no recom-
mendation.
Jim will check with the ordinances on cement trucks washing out
their trucks on City streets. A letter or phone call will advise
the companies involved not to continue that practice.
Jim will check with Harlan Lund about the water drainage problem
on W. 12th just past Valley Drive by the two new homes.
A culvert will be installed across the street just north of E. 8th
St. on Cottonwood to drain the water from LaPrath's place to the
storm sewer. When Cottonwood was put in, it stopped the natural
drainage from this. L
Don Meyers says the street has sunk at 7th Avenue and W. 6th St.
and not draining away. Jim said'.. it is one place on his list to
address this year.
The committee recommends to the Council to have Jim direct Larry
p./ Herman, the SID 108 attorney, to write a letter to Barry O'Leary
that Darlene Steinmetz wants the area tore up in her yard done
over. (Since this meeting Maurie Kaiser also requests this on
his property.)
Jim will check on the street opening ordinance and see if it
should be updated.
Jim will check with Joe on letters to businesses with merchandise
set out on the sidewalks.
Meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
