STREETS & ALLEYS COMMITTEE

A quorum (3 or more) present the following action was taken by
the committee:
Bid Opening on Roller
Western Machine - New Case $43,800.
Used 1979 - 160 Bomag $32,985.
Used 1980 - 140 Bomag $27,350.
_ Tri State - Ra
Ygo $37,500.
Motion by Chuck Dickerson, seconded by Ernie to take Bomag 140
for $27,350.00 with Council approval.
Duane Guenthner would like to have something done about drainage
system at the corner of 4th & Birch.
Motion was made by Chuck and seconded by Ernie to install a culvert
or take appropriate steps to correct the problem.
Andy Loebe asked why the City of Laurel had no bids for read
material with Cenex. It was brought to his attention that the City
might not receive the Oil without a bid. If we bid we could
possibly get it at $15 to $20 a ton cheaper than last year. Motion
by Chuck and seconded by Ernie to bid to Cenex for road Oil MC 800
and not to have a bid bond or performance bond with Council approval.
