August 8, 1994
A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana~ was
held in the Council Chambers and called to order by Mayor Charles Rodgers at
7:05 p.m., on August 8~ 1994 for the purpose of adopting the final budget and
setting the final tax levies for 1994-95.
COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT:
John Minch
Donna Kilpatrick
Lonnie Kellogg
Gay Easton
Ron Marshall
COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT:
Albert Ehrlick
Bob Graham
Chuck Dickerson
Don Hackmann received a letter from the Montana League of Cities and Towns
advising us that the expenses for the local government study commission come
under 1-105. We budgeted $ 2,000.00 for election expenses which we may not
need. It is the year for the county elections and we do not know if they will
bill us for our portion of the study commission election or not~ but we should
be alright, even if we are billed.
Don distributed a comparison sheet showing the mill value in 1986-87 and
1994-95. The mill value did go UP this year but for taxes assessed that are
restricted by 1-105, we are $ 166.00 less than in 1986. The total mill levy
amount is still under the 1986 level by $ 369.00.
ADOPTING THE FINAL BUDGET:

A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE FINAL
BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF LAUREL~ MONTANA, FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR 1994-95
Motion by Alderman Marshal] that Resolution No. R94-40 be passed arid
adopted, seconded by Alderman Minch. Motion carried 5--0.

RESOLUTION NO. R94-29
BEING A RESOLUTION LEVYING TAXES FOR GENERAL AND
SPECIFIC PURPOSES FOR THE CITY OF LAUREL, MONTANA,
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1994
RESOLUTION NO. R94-30
BEING A RESOLUTION LEVYING AND ASSESSING ALL OF THE
PROPERTY EMBRACED WITHIN SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
LIGHT NO. 2 OF THE CITY OF LAUREL, MONTANA, WITH THE
ENTIRE COST OF MAINTENANCE AND ELECTRICAL CURRENT FOR
THE YEAR 1994-95

OF CURB, GUTTER, PAVING, WATER & SEWER IN
MOGAN SUBDIVISION
Motion by Alderwoman Kilpatrick that Resolution NO. R94-29 through No.
R94-34 be passed and adopted~ seconded by Alderman Marshall. Motion carried
5--0.
The meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
