A quorum (3 or more) present the following action was taken by
the committee:
The committee agreed sand should be placed on the asphalted
area under the playground equipment in all parks as a safety factor.
Mayor Gauthier reported a youngster had been seriously injured in
the South Park recently after falling from a slide onto the asphalt.
Ernie reported on a seminar he attended recently. 200 persons
is the limit allowed in the pool at one time. He said the pool would
be ready for the.June 7th scheduled opening.
Anne Easton, recreation director, shared the pre-registration
figures for the recreation program. She and Lee Friedt would like
to teach the infant-toddler swimming lessons, however, they are not
certified and the Mayor expressed a concern about that. They could
teach if a certified lifeguard is present at all times.
Ron Faught reported on a meeting of the Murray Heights Develop-
ment committee. They would like some repair of cracks and stripping
done at the Thompson Park courts and will work toward getting new
courts in Murray Park.
Next meeting scheduled for June 23rd at 5:00 P.M.
