Attending, Bill Brennan, Ron Faught, Luanne Engh, Dave Michael,
Jim Flisrand, Doris Armstrong, Dave Schreiner, Kathy Hanchey,
and Donna Kilpatrick.
Bill Brennan moved, Ron Faught seconded that we allow the
Cub Scouts to swim in the pool prior to regular swimming pool
hours, Sunday, June 28. Lifeguards will be paid for by the
Cub Scouts. Motion carried.
Luanne Engh moved, Ron Faught seconded to charge $12.00
for swimming lessons. This is the same as last year. Motion
carried.
It was recommended that we offer swimming lessons for
two sessions, July 6, to 17 and July 27 to August 7. Lessons
will be at 9:30 , 10 and 10:,30 with infants and three, four
and five year old from 11 to 12 noon.
Discussion was held on the playground equipment we would
like to purchase in this budget year. Possibilities are a slide
and a climber for Riverside Park. Cost would be $920.00 and
$284.00 with $230.00 for freight.
• A report on the FFA project at Murray Park was given by
Jim Flisrand. The FFA group has made three picnic tables. Jim
moved that any money left from the matching grant be used to
purchase trees or shrubs for the park.
Jim will have estimates for the June 22 meeting concerning
a proposed shelter at Thomson Park.
Dave Schreiner requested the use of Murray Park for soccer
practice. The committee is undecided because of the damage
cleats will do to the underground watering system in the park.
Jim will measure Russell Park to determine if a practice field
will fit there.
Kathy Hanchey of the New Owl Cafe requested permission to
sell cotton candy and other concession items in the park. The
committee had no objections if the sale did not create a con-
flict with the concession sales of the American Legion baseball.
