0 Parks COMMITTEE
Date 9 1989 Time 5:30 P.M.
Place of Meeting City Hall
MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman- Donna Kilpatrick
Jim Flisrand Mel Meccage
Chuck Dickerson
OTHER'S PRESENT:
Ken Olson, representing Little League
A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken
by the Committee:
Ken Olson inquired about a rumor of a Little League field
being moved in Thomson Park. The Committee had not heard of
the rumor.
With the approval of the matching grant from the Fish,
Wildlife and Parks, the Committee will study Thomson Park
in an effort to get the best possible arrangement of all the
things that must be fit into the park. It is the City's
largest park, with the exception of Riverside Park, but it
is becoming the most cluttered.
Game schedules of the various teams that will be using
Thomson Park this summer are needed in order to set up a
sprinkling schedule that will least interfere with the games and
practices. Jim will try to devise such a schedule.
Jim will set up classes for certification for lifeguards
and begin to set up advertisements for swimming pool personnel.
The City will make some moveable soccer goals to be used
by the Little League if permission is granted by the school
board to utilize the old North School lot for practice fields.
The next meeting of the Park Committee is Thursday, February
23rd at 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers.
Respectfully submitted,
6;4? 4?4??
Donna Kilpatrick, Chairman
