Place of Meeting City Hall
MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman
Mel Meccage
Jim Flisrand
LuAnn Engh
OTHER'S PRESENT:
Donna Kilpatrick
Bill Brennan
Chuck Dickerson
Milt Wester
Doris Armstrong Angie Thom
Howard Thom
A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken
by the Committee:
Doris, Angie and Howard attended the meeting in regard to
the shelter they are proposing for Thomson Park. The structure
will be 35' x 501, all metal and concrete, and eventually will
have a 4' concrete wall on two sides. Estimated construction
cost is set at $ 10,000.00 and they will return with a blueprint
• for Jim to approve.
Mayor Gauthier spoke to our committee about the swimming
pool ticket prices last year and of the fact we expected a ticket
for each time a person entered the pool. He said it did accomplish
four things:
1. It afforded better crowd control.
2. It was easi er (no stamping of hands).
3. It reduced the city's risk and exposure to the
lifeguards (kids did not come and stay all day).
4. It provided an effective and ecomonical way
to operate the pool.
n
Also discussed was charging more for tickets and putting some
away for a pool fund and charging out of town residents more.
Chuck Dickerson moved and Milt Wester seconded that we charge
$ 10.00 for 25 tickets from June 1st to pool opening on June 10th
and $ 10.00 for 20 tickets after pool opening day. Non-ticket
holders will pay $ 1.00 per swim. Motion carried.

The Park Committee agreed the batting cage at the League Field
should remain where it is shown in the plan and that being up
against the fence, not 3' away from it.
Discussed the summer construction project at Thomson Park and
the problem it may cause with the expected crowd for the Centen-
nial promotion.
Discussed whether or not the Centennial Committee should
inform the committee or the council of the events planned in the
park.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Donna Kilpatrick
Chairman
