the following action was taken
Members of the Laurel Girls Softball Association attended
to have the Committee assist with a scheduling problem when one
team had previously joined a league from Carbon County. But
the association had already established a schedule that allowed
the team 7 days to use the field for their 4 home games. Days
allowed by the Association were May 16 at 7 p.m., May 25 at
5 p.m., May 31 at 5 p.m., June 5 at 7 p.m., June 13 at 5 p.m.,
June 19 at 5 p.m., and June 28 at 7 p.m.
Milt Wester, speaking for the Laurel Centennial Committee,
submitted an official list of events to be held. in Thomson Park
during Centennial Days, June 24-July 4. A copy of the list is
attached. Wester said he would keep the Committee informed of
any changes or additions.
Jim reported on the progress of construction in Thomson
Park. We will receive the paper work the end of May which
just about assures us construction cannot begin prior to the
Centennial celebration.
We discussed the Recreation Director for the summer and
agreed we should hire the director earlier in order to set up
the summer schedule, take pre-registration and then return to
the Committee to finalize and set the summer schedule. Payment
would be received as the person arrives for the first session.
Registration would be held in the schools before the end of may
and the director's season would last from about may 15 until
August 1. The Committee felt this arrangement would allow for
more city control over the total program.

Milt Wester moved and Ron Faught seconded that we allow
the LeLeche League to use Kiwanis Park from 10:30 a.m. to
12:30 p.m., June 15 and 29, and July 20 and August 3. Also
that we allow the Yellowstone Democratic Central Committee
to use Riverside Park on August 19. Motion carried.
Jim will begin work to secure Port-a-Potties and more
garbage cans for Thomson Park during the Centennial Celebration.
Bright n' Beautiful has extra garbage cans for use and he will
check with them to secure some for that time period.
Respectfully submitted,
Donna Kilpatrick, Chairman
