Liz Feuerbacher attended the meeting to request information
concerning the West Park (in the county) and Nutting Park. The
Laurel Girls Softball League might.be interested in developing
one of the parks into a softball complex. Liz requested the

the Committee recommend that the girls softball league prepare
a plan for development of Nutting Park for the Committee's
study. Motion carried.

night, July 24. Some checks were taken and a radio belonging
to one of the guards was filled with mud. An investigation is
continuing.
Crews started. installing the sewer line for the construction'
of the new concession stand/bathrooms in Thomson Park.
Discussion was held concerning the operation of the
concession stand once it is completed. A bid process for awarding
the contract to operate the stand is being considered. Milt
Wester expressed opposition to that plan saying he felt the

the stand. Jim will bring to the August 24th meeting a plan for
proposed regulations for operating the stand for'the Committee
to consider.
Large boulders have surfaced, in the area of the playground
equipment in Murray Park and pose a safety factor for children
playing there. Jim will check into this.
Weeds growing to closely to the curbs in various parks are •
causing concrete to break. Jim will check into this also.
Spraying for bugs, at least in City parks, was discussed.
but no action was taken.
Donna Kilpatrick will make an inventory of broken playground
equipment in order for replacements to be ordered.
Milt Wester, speaking on behalf of Bob Strand, moved that
we allow a tournament to be held at the tennis courts, August
