The Committee agreed to accept the Little League/Legion
team offer as presented. That is to open during games from
5 p.m. to the games' end, seven days a week, if there are
games. The concession stand would be open from April 25 until
August 1 unless legion games continue into August for a
tournament. The committee recommends that a percentage of the
gross (10%) would be charged and used for improvements of the
field, etc.
Following the season, the Little League/Legion team would
remove all equipment from the concession stand. Requests to
use the concession stand following the season would be allowed
for non-profit groups only and on a first-come-first-served basis.
It is hoped that an individual can be hired just to care for
Thomson Park. We will check with the Mayor on that possibility.

Chuck Dickerson suggested that the Little League and Legion .
team representatives Alice Branstetter and Charles Peaton be
invited to the February 8th meeting of the Park Committee to 3b
discuss their feelings on the committee's suggestions.
Chuck also suggested that the Little Girls Softball
League be contacted to consider use of the Old North School
lot for games. The school board would have to be notified. That
would help to alleviate the scheduling problems that are created
when all the leagues have to use the existing fields.
Milt Wester said that the lights at Athletic Field need
grouting and a cement base needs to be installed around the
light poles.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
Respectively submitted,
