Doris Armstrong and Angie Thom spoke concerning the proposed

Darrell explained that there would be no charge for general
use, but if a group wanted exclusive use of the shelter for a
stated time then a fee would be charged.
The swimming pool will be open June 9th, weather permitting,
and close August 26th. Hours will be 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. for
general swimming and 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. for adult swimming.
Lonnie Kellogg moved, Darrell seconded that we recommend
Lee Langlinais for Pool Manager and Mike Gauthier for Assistant
Manager. Motion carried.

Parks Committee meeting-of April 26, 1990
The Committee requests the support of the Laurel City Council
on beginning a project to build a new swimming pool and tennis
courts. It would mean floating a bond issue. Our present pool
is celebrating its 40th birthday this year. The Committee feels
its time to start working on replacing it. A study would have to
be done, but off hand the Committee feels the present site of the
pool could be used for the new pool in order to utilize the
fairly new change house facility.
Jim Worthington reported on the progress of the concession
stand construction and the shelter. Footings were poured for the
shelter and foundation was poured for the concession stand.
The next Parks meeting will be on Thursday, May 10th.
The meeting was adjourned at 6;20 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Donna Kilpatrick, Chairman
