A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken
by the Committee:
Lonnie Kellogg moved, seconded by Bill Brennan, that we
establish a $10.00 reservation fee for the Thomson Park
Shelter. Motion carried.
. Lonne Kellogg moved, seconded by Bill Brennan that we hire
six lifeguards as follows:
Virginia Kincy
Grace Hill
Dawn Temple
Scott Edwards
Cheryl Hallsted
Gary Voigt
Motion carried.
Progress reports were given on the swimming pool, it
weathered well during the winter and should open June 9th, weather
permitting. Progress reports were also given on the construction
of the shelter and the concession stand/restrooms. Both should
be completed by next week. Picnic tables still have to be
built for the shelter.
Mayor Gauthier explained the problems with hiring summer help
for the Parks. It is being considered in the negotiations for
City employees.
The recreation director is advertising through the schools
for summer recreation classes and registration will be held
later in June.
