1 • M I N U T E S PARKS COMMITTEE Date Jan. 24 1991 Time 5sm. Place of Meeting City Hall MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman- Donna Kilpatrick Bob Strand Jim Worthington OTHER'S PRESENT: Cindy Chapple Alvin Kappel Paul Elsenpeter, Jr. A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken by the Committee: Cindy Chapple and Alvin Kappel attended the meeting to request the use of Nutting Park and the Safety Complex. This team is not a member of the Laurel Girl's Softball Association. The Committee recommended approval if the team works scheduling out . with the Laurel Girl's Softball Association. Jim Worthington and Dave Michael will review the Billings City Manual and our swimming pool manuals and have a recommendation for the next meeting. Paul Elsenpeter, Jr., attended the meeting to discuss the scuba diving ordinance recently passed by the Council. His concerns were that the the pond is not deep enough for check out dives by student divers, spearing or shooting of fish in the pond, and the influx of student divers the ordinance may generate and that the ecology of the pond may not tolerate the added activity. A financial report of the summer concession sales in the Thomson Park concession stand is attached to the minutes. Joe Bradley will work on a contract for the Little League and American Legion for the 1991 summer season depending on what Mayor Gauthier has to do about the field maintenance in Athletic Field as for employing a person for such a position. Bob Strand asked about ha?.Ting-a Jamboree in Riverside Park this summer. More plans will be formulated before he requests the use of the park. He was informed he would need to supply the City with proof of liability insurance.
