HomeMy WebLinkAboutPark Committee Minutes 05.23.19910 PARKS COMMITTEE Date May 23, 1991 Time 5:05 pm Place of Meeting Council Chambers MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Donna Kilpatrick Lonnie Kellogg Jim Flisrand Bob Strand Jim Worthington OTHER'S PRESENT: Fred Wennemar and Dian Oversen, Jaycees Kim Herman and Terry Krum, Laurel Rifle Club Dan Robertus and Lloyd Shay, American Legion Henry Lich and Henry Philhower, Horshoe Club Ernie Freund Rod and Gun Club Tom Brown anA Lloyd Shay, Search and Rescue A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken by the Committee: Representatives of the organizations which have leases with the City for use of the buildings in Riverside Park were invited to the meeting to make sure they understand the terms of the lease in regard to the upkeep of the grounds around each building and just what they are responsible for. Jim will have an agreement drawn up outlining what portion of the park each groupd cares for. • A lease will be drawn up between the City of Laurel and Carl Hallobaugh for the house which has recently been vacated by the O'Rourkes. He will do the necessary repairs on the house and be responsible for some caretaking of the park area. The pool will be open on Sunday, June 9th. Ticket prices remain the same, $1.00 for individual swim tickets and a book of 20 tickets for $10.00. Left over tickets from last year will be honored. General swimming will be from '1 to 7 p.m. each day with family swimming from 7 to 8 p.m.. Children must be accompanied by an adult. We have 14 life guards hired (only 13 accepted the jobs Mike Gauthier and two others will begin Monday preparing the pool for opening. 'The swimming pool personnel will be: Mike Gauthier, Manager Curt Hoffman, Asst.
