A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken by
the Committee:
Jim and Gay reported on Aviation Day which is planned in
Thomson Park, Friday and Saturday, March 27th & 28th. The City
has co-operated with the school project by providing additional
garbage cans, having the:rest rooms open earlier than usual, and
providing porta-pots. One bank of lights will be turned on for
security purposes. Special emphasis was put on cleaning the
park for this special event. Debris was picked up and weeds burned
around the fences.
Ccx.?c,? pr/?r??C Jim moved and Lonnie seconded that we open the pool for the
season on Friday, June 12, and close the pool the day prior to
the opening day of school. (School begins Aug. 27, therefore
??-yam the pool will be closed Aug. 26). The same swimming fees will
be in effect as last year, $1.00 per individual swim and a
booklet of 20 tickets for $10.00. Motion carried.
About 20 applications have been received for the positions
of lifeguards and manager. The committee will review the
applications and make a recommendation at the April 9 park
committee meeting.
The American Legion team group and the Little League are
doing an excellent job working on Athletic Field. Dugouts are
in the process of being moved.
The slide at Nutting Park has been repaired and girls'
softball volunteers are installing the fence on the west and
north edges of the park.
Clean up day (Litter: Roundup) is Saturday, April 11th and the
alley clean-up is April 13-17.
