Park Committee
May 28; 1992
Attending: Jim Worthington, Gay Easton, Donna Kilpatrick
Others: Dave Michael, Curt Hoffman
Curt discussed with us the pool readiness progression. He
suggested Jodi Johnson be named assistant manager; and Kyle
Hoffman, Doug Woerner, and Marty Edgmond, head lifeguards.
The committee recommends that the Mayor make these
appointments.
The pool will open June 12 and close Aug. 26. An
orientation meeting with the guards will be conducted by
Jim Worthington and Curt Hoffman, June 11 in the city
council chambers.
All requirements of the Thomson Park grant have been met.
Trees were planced and picnic tables installed in the area
north of Athletic Field fence. We will now receive the
$1,000 remaining in the grant which has been held
completion.
The Babysitting Coop is providing a sand box at Kiwanis
Park and it should be ready to be installed this week.
We are still looking for someone to clean the bathrooms in
Thomson Park.
Ann Easton will conduct a training session for lifeguards
on how to teach swimming lessons. The training session will
be held prior to the beginning of lessons which begin in
early July.
Respectively submitted,
Donna Kilpatrick
P.S. After the meeting, two members of the Jaycees found me
and thought the meeting was at 6 p.m. Their request was for
a Pet Show to be held in Fireman's Park Saturday, June 13.
• There will be about 30-50 dogs. A charge of $2 will be made
for each entry. The money will be used for a lunch, ribbons
and certificates. A vet will be invited to share
information concerning pets and a person from a kennel will
talk on obedience.
