HomeMy WebLinkAboutPark Committee Minutes 05.28.1992 Park Committee May 28; 1992 Attending: Jim Worthington, Gay Easton, Donna Kilpatrick Others: Dave Michael, Curt Hoffman Curt discussed with us the pool readiness progression. He suggested Jodi Johnson be named assistant manager; and Kyle Hoffman, Doug Woerner, and Marty Edgmond, head lifeguards. The committee recommends that the Mayor make these appointments. The pool will open June 12 and close Aug. 26. An orientation meeting with the guards will be conducted by Jim Worthington and Curt Hoffman, June 11 in the city council chambers. All requirements of the Thomson Park grant have been met. Trees were planced and picnic tables installed in the area north of Athletic Field fence. We will now receive the $1,000 remaining in the grant which has been held completion. The Babysitting Coop is providing a sand box at Kiwanis Park and it should be ready to be installed this week. We are still looking for someone to clean the bathrooms in Thomson Park. Ann Easton will conduct a training session for lifeguards on how to teach swimming lessons. The training session will be held prior to the beginning of lessons which begin in early July. Respectively submitted, Donna Kilpatrick P.S. After the meeting, two members of the Jaycees found me and thought the meeting was at 6 p.m. Their request was for a Pet Show to be held in Fireman's Park Saturday, June 13. • There will be about 30-50 dogs. A charge of $2 will be made for each entry. The money will be used for a lunch, ribbons and certificates. A vet will be invited to share information concerning pets and a person from a kennel will talk on obedience.
