Park Committee
6-25-92
5:04 p.m. adjourned 5:43 p.m.
Attending: Emelie Eaton, Gay Easton, Lonnie Kellogg, Ron
Faught, Donna Kilpatrick, chairman
Others: Angie Thom, Laurel Garden Club.
Angie requested the repair of two sprinkler heads in the
garden on the northeast side of the underpass. Jim said he
would take care of the repair. The east end of the
sprinkler system on the hedge is leaking and people are
still walking their dogs in the park and are not disposing
of the droppings. She requested a sign directing the dog
walkers on the south side of the hedge where a dog run
could be established. She also reported some one cut out a
portion of the newly planted hedge with a mower. Jim will
contact MRL personnel to warn them about saving the hedge
when they are mowing in that area.
Bill moved and Jim seconded that we allow a candy bar
vending machine in the lobby at the swimming pool. Motion
carried.
City crews are busy filling the cracks in the tennis
courts. The pool operation is going well, we are only
losing between 3-31/2 inches overnight at the pool. That is
good.
We need contracts drawn up for the man who resides in
the house near the Rod and Gun Club building in Riverside
Park. He is not considered a city employee, but receives
the house to rent in exchange for maintaining a portion of
Riverside Park.
Everything seems to be go for the Fourth of July
celebration.
Res ectively s bmi ted,
Donna G. Kilpatrick
