HomeMy WebLinkAboutPark Committee Minutes 02.25.19930 Park Committee
Thursday, Feb. 25, 1993
5:00 p.m. to 5:36 p.m.
Attending: Gay Easton, Jim Worthington, Lonnie Kellogg,
Emelie Eaton, Donna Kilpatrick, chairman.
Others, Mark Mace, president, Laurel Little League.
Lonnie Kellogg moved, Emelie Eaton seconded that we allow
the Little League to place advertisement signs (4'x 8') on
the Little League Field fence (the field located nearest
the concession stand) from April 24 to July 4. An annual
review (at least for the first year) will be required.
Motion carried.
Much like the signs on Athletic Field fence, businesses
will be contacted to advertise with Laurel businesses
receiving the first chance.
Mace also requested that they be allowed to place two or
three plastic signs on the backstops stating "welcome to
Laurel". The committee saw no problem in granting that
request.
More discussion will be held at the March meeting
concerning field maintenance plans, etc.
Season swim tickets from last year will be honored this
year as an adequate supply is on hand.
Lonnie Kellogg will work with several groups who are
interestsed in beginning a fund drive for a new swimming
pool.
Girls Softball Association asked that they be allowed to
place an orange plastic snow fence near the field in the
southeast corner of Nutting Park. Representatives of that
group will be asked to attend the next park meeting.
Gay Easton asked about the possibility of further
developing the small park at Eighth Ave. and Main St. as it
is an entrance to our city. Jim will see if that is
possible.
The meeting adjourned at 5:36 p.m.
