Members present: Chairman Bob Gauthier Fred Feuerbacher III, Vern Waller, Bob Mann, Dave Michael, Don Hackmann B. Other's present: Claude Cory, Becky,Hewitt, Gail Verlanic, Walt Menello A quorum (3 or more) present the following action was taken by the committee: .-----The committee met with the two low bidders on the group health proposals which were opened April 5, 1983. On Monday, May 2, 1983, a letter was received from Blue Cross stating the changes in group benefits and the increase in premiums effective June 1, 1983, on our current policy. Claude Cory, representing Blue Cross, and Becky Hewitt, Blue Cross Group Service Representative, discussed the problems Blue Cross has had in servicing the claims and.their cash flow problem and stated that these problems have been corrected. Further discussion regarding rates, coverage, benefits, etc. Gail Verlanic, representing Transamerica-Occidental, reviewed her proposal and there was discussion regarding deductibles, rates, benefits, etc. After the representativesmade their presentations the committee discussed both plans. Bob Mann and Vern Waller will be meeting with the other union members on Wednesday, May 4, 1983, to review both plans and get their recommendation.- A recommendation will be made.to the Council on May 17, 1983.
