INSURANCE COMMITTEE

A. Members present: Chairman Don Hackmann
Norman Orr , Vern Waller Phil Curry.
B. Other's present: Bob Gauthier , Vicki Chapman
A quorum (3 or more) present the following action was taken by
the committee:
The committee reviewed the insurance bids which were-opened at
the regular City Council meeting on June 2, 1987.
Motion by, Norman Orr, to recommend that Williams Agency be
awarded the bid in the amount of $40,307, for the City and
$2,186, for the Airport Authority for a total bid of $42,493,
seconded.by Vern Waller. Motion Carried.
Meeting adjourned at 4:48 pm.

or airport liability. It is very difficult to find insurance
carriers for these type of coverages. If you could, chances are
they would not be lower than what Williams Agency bid. There-
fore, for a dollar comparison those two bid amounts from Williams
Agency were added to the bid from Harris Agency, as follows:

Since Harris Agency did not have a complete bid, and also in
comparing the $47,901 with $42,493 it appears that Williams Agency
should be awarded the bid.

Our insurance bid for the City of Laurel is as
per specifications except for the following:
the Fire Department equipment-has a $100.
deductible instead of $1,000., the Emergency
equipment located on ambulances has a $100. deductible
instead of $1,000. and the garbage containers have
a $100. deductible instead of no deductible.
The annual premium-for 7-1-87 to 7-1-88 is
$42,493.
