Congratulations! We are pleased to announce that House Bill 6 from the 615t Legislative
session was recently signed by the Governor and your project was awarded funding for a
Renewable Resource Grant, in the amount of $100,000.
This year, with the passage of HB 645, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
(ARRA), the Legislature has authorized funding for all 89 of the recommended RRGL projects.
To comply with the intentions of the ARRA to get money into the economy quickly, new
language was written into HB6 making the bill effective upon passage. This means that DNRC
can begin contract negotiations with you now, instead of waiting until July 1St, as has been the
case in the past.
Prior to beginning any work that would be reimbursed with grant funds, a grant agreement
between you, the project sponsor, and the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation
must be prepared and signed by both parties. Please make sure that you have an updated
scope of work and budget ready when you begin negotiations for the grant agreement. A grant
manager from DNRC will be assigned in the next few weeks and will contact you.
If you do not plan to proceed with your project and do not anticipate the need of the approved
grant, will you let our office know as soon as possible?
