The staff and Don feels they can dig it for about $3,000 cheaper than a private contractor. Alan Crowe briefed the Council on a new recorder for the Police Department. The old one is getting too costly to maintain. Helena Police Department has one for sale for about $800. This is a 24-hour reel-to-reel dual track recorder. Jim Flisrand's surveyor's level was inspected. They want $750 to repair it. A new one costs better than $1,100--$1,200. Looking at a new one instead of repairing the old one. Temporary position of dispatcher is needed at this time. Don't think we will advertise. This week is Clerk's Institute and Elected Officers Institute.
