HomeMy WebLinkAboutCommittee of the Whole Minutes 05.20.1986 MINUTES CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE AS A WHOLE May 20, 1986 6:30 p.m. Council Chambers Members present: Chairman, Bob Gauthier Ervin Wood Rob Harris (late) Donna Kilpatrick Don Meyers (late) Norman Orr Chuck Dickerson Others present: Pat Metzger, Jim Flisrand, Peg Kamerzel, Ernie Davis and Don Hackmann. Bob distributed the Mayor's Status Report as of May 20, 1986. AIU Insurance Co. has cancelled the City's insurance effective July 1, 1986. There will be an Insurance Committee meeting May 28, 1986, at 4:30 p.m., to discuss the liability insurance situation. Workmen's Comp has reported back on the lift station. Most of the problems were electrical and they should be taken care of by Friday. The blower was used today and it seemed to work OK. The swimming pool is scheduled to open Saturday, June 7th. The Mayor would like someone from the Council to serve as a liason person on the Airport Authority Board and the City-County Planning Board. John Lackman's term expires on the County Health Board and the Mayor would like someone to:replace him. Dave and Ernie reported on a swimming pool seminar held in Billings. Stormont Welding has finished the belly dump for the cemetery and Ernie reported that it's working real well. The NCR 9020 computer is now being installed. Bob and Ervin reported that they.have received many phone calls regarding the smell at Asphalt Supply. Ervin complimented the City crew for doing a good job of oiling Railroad Street. Donna mentioned that LuAnne Engh would like to be on the Park Committee. . Jim commented on the water pressure at the booster station in Murray Park, which is producing pressure for a certain district. Everything below the Big Ditch in Murray Heights is not on the new pressure system. It's on the existing City pressure which, in that area, is around 30 pounds. 0 ?? 13'1 1 There has been a request from a couple of people who are building houses up there to lower that district down to 12th Street. The project was originally designed to do that. The pressure will be around 65 pounds at maximum if this is done for the homes near 12th Street. Jim mentioned that he was going to go ahead and follow through on that. Rob Harris arrived at the meeting. Ervin Wood mentioned that there is excavating going on in the yard at West Maryland and 9th Avenue. Jim mentioned he is doing some landscaping in his yard. Chuck requested that a screen be put on a window in the Council Chambers. Ernie will follow up on this. Don Meyers arrived at the meeting.
