CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE AS A WHOLE
May 5, 1987 6:30 p.m.

Bob distributed the Mayor's Status Report dated May 5, 1987.
The Airport Authority appointment will be made at the next
Council meeting.
Received several petitions from residents and the developers
of Village Subdivision requesting the change of garbage containers
from 300-gal. to 90-gal.
Street repairs (Main and 1st Avenue) are progressing well and
should only take about two more weeks. Discussion regarding
emergency vehicles during street repair. Jim Flisrand said
that the contractor will let emergency vehicles through.
We are still waiting on some engineering studies for the East
Main Lift Station. That project should be started in the near
future.
An agreement has been worked out regarding Earl Linger's
approach on East Main.
Road material has been ordered for our own street work.
The water has been turned on in the parks and cemetery, with
very few leaks this year.
There have been numerous complaints on our garbage dumping procedures.
Volk Construction did some repair work on the digester at the
Sewer Plant. The primary digester should be back in service
soon. The secondary one will be worked on next week. Then
the punch list should be completed.
Discussion regarding the mounting of a chalk and cork board on
the east wall in the Council Chambers.
• Bob discussed the new table arrangement in the Council Chambers.

Dave Michael announced that at the next City Council meeting
• utility rate changes will be introduced. Water will increase
about 71? a month and sewer will increase about 73? a month
for single-family residences and garbage will decrease 34? a
month, for an overall average net increase of $1.10 per month.
Discussion regarding complaints of irrigation ditches overflowing.
Peg Kamerzel mentioned that she invited a City license applicant
to the Council meeting tonight.
