Bob distributed the Mayor's Status Report dated 6/2/87.
The swimming pool will be about a week late in opening. It
appears to be in worse shape than originally thought and more
repair work is needed. It is scheduled to open June 13th.
The street maintenance schedule is in the Mayor's Status
Report, and also the Police Activity Report for the month of May.
Chuck Dickerson suggested that item 13 on the agenda (poker
and keno machines) be considered at the time the committee report
is reviewed. Peg Kamerzel gave an overview of the new state law
and the committee's recommendation of a license fee for 1987-88.
Jim Flisrand reported that the state has indicated that they
have some money set aside for urban renewal design stage for the
next street we may consider. Twelfth street appears to be the
next street on the list. Maryland might be another one to look
at. It was suggested that this be presented to the City-County
Planning Board on the second meeting in July.
Donna Kilpatrick questioned the street maintenance schedule
and wanted to know why E 5th Street from 1st to Colorado wasn't
included. Ernie Davis and Bob Gauthier reported that the water
line is had and is scheduled to be replaced around August. They
didn't want to fix the street, then turn around and dig it up
again later.
Jim Flisrand reported that the swimming pool is structurally
sound. There is some grout on the top that is in poor shape.
The walls are structurally ok, but the floor has cracks in it.
Meeting adjourned at 6:54 p.m.
