-Bob distributed the Mayor's status report dated January 5, 1988.
-For the benefit of the new Council members, Bob explained the
purpose of the pre--council meeting.
-Bob distributed copies of the new proposed committees.
-The idea of going for the CDBG Grant (Economic Development) has
been dropped due to the lengthy requirements that have to be
met over the next 2 years.
-Bob reported that Ernie Davis and Jim Flisrand were on vacation
the past two weeks.
-Chuck Dickerson reported that the 1987 taxes on the Cantrell
property that is going through the de-annexation has not been
paid.
He also reported that the unpaid taxes on the Mace property in
the same area (PDF Construction) goes back to 1984.
-Chuck Dickerson was concerned about a letter received by Joe
Bradley regarding parking and the $6,000.00 due the City for
parking spaces. Bob said that he is checking into this.
-Discussion about the possibility of a zone change for the property
at 519 Elm Avenue. A home occupation for a car repair business
was approved at the January 15, 1987 Council meeting.
-Bob Graham questioned on whether a Planning Board member had
moved away. Bob Gauthier said that he had not received a letter
of resignation.

-Don Hackmann distributed employee lists so that drivers license
numbers and expiration dates can be recorded for insurance purposes.
-Bob mentioned that a public hearing is held on the second reading
of ordinances.
-Bob informed the new Council members on how he conducts a Council
meeting.
-Bruce Teeters questioned if the landfill problem had been resolved.
Bob Gauthier mentioned that this was still being discussed in the
Garbage Committee.
-Alan Crowe requested that a Personnel Committee meeting be held
after the Council meeting tonight.
-Bob briefed everyone on the purpose and functions of the committees.
-Ervin Wood asked if there could be a study made on the possibility
of a 4-way stop at Maryland and 5th.
Bob Graham asked if 6th Avenue and 9th Street could be checked
also. Alan Crowe will check on accident reports in these areas.
