HomeMy WebLinkAboutSpecial City Council Minutes 07.06.1995Minutes of the City Council of Laurel July 6, 1995 A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana, was held in the Council Chambers and called to order by Mayor Charles Rodgers at 5:02 p.m., on July 6, 1995 for the specific purpose of awarding the bids for street materials and petroleum products. COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: John Minch Donna Kilpatrick Lonnie Kellogg Gay Easton Albert Ehrlick Ron Marshall COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: Bob Graham Chuck Dickerson The minutes of the Street and Alley Committee of July 6, 1996 were presented and reviewed. The committee recommended the following bids: PETROLEUM PRODUCTS Laurel Co-op Assn. Cashier's Check P.O. Box 367 $ 2,156.32 Laurel MT 59044 Super unleaded gasohol 12,000 gal. $ 1.089 #2 Diesel Fuel 10,000 gal. .670 518 15W-40 oil 440 gal. 4.08 13,068.00 6,700.00 1,795.20 Total Bid ..................... $ 21,563.20 Motion by Alderwoman Kilpatrick to accept the bid from Laurel Co-op for petroleum products in the amount of $ 21,563.20, seconded by Alderman Ehrlick. Motion carried 6--0. LIQUID ASPHALT Cenex P.O. Box 909 Laurel MT 59044 Bid Bond MC-800/MC-250 30,000 gal. $ .57 $ 17,100.00 CRS-2 25,000 gal. .50 12,500.00 Total Bid ..................... $ 29,600.00 Motion by Alderman Minch to accept the bid from Cenex for liquid asphalt in the amount of $ 29,600.00, seconded by Alderman Easton. Motion carried 6--0. ~SPHALTIC PLANT MIX Empire Sand & Gravel P.O. Box 1215 Billings MT 59103 Bid Bond 2000 T Cold Mix (delivered) $ 24.50 $ 49,000.00 Motion by Alderman Marshall to accept the bid from Empire Sand & Gravel for cold-asphaltic plant mix in the amount of $ 49,000.00, seconded by Alderman Minch. Motion carried 6--0. STREET MATERIALS Jim Flisrand stated that the city received two bids for street materials but the committee is concerned that our budget cannot accommodate these bids. In re-evaluating the city's needs, we will make some adjustments to our original specifications and readvertise the bid for street materials. Motion by Alderman Ehrlick to reject the existing bids for street materials, seconded by Alderman Minch. Motion carried 6--0.
