Bob Gauthier 3 or 4 summer emp Comp. and we will we are looking at and will also use MINUTES CITY COUNCIL Cla4MITTEE OF THE WHOLE Date April 40 1989 Time 6`3Q p.m. Place of Meeting Council Chambers mentioned that we will start looking at hiring loyees. Jim Redman is still out on Workmen's possibly hire a temporary replacement. Also, hiring 1 permanent employee for the Cemetary that employee as a utility worker. Street sweeping will start on Thursday, April 6th. Graveling and grading of the alleys will start sometime in the near future. Pot hole patching will begin. The streets are worse than they have been in a long time. Discussion about the Resolution for closing the tennis courts for the high school teams to use. Bob suggested that the resolution extending Cable TV's agreement to June 30, 1989 be reviewed before the council meeting tonight. Roy Williams was present to follow up on a letter he had written to the City on March 16th requesting that the Laurel Museum, Inc. be permitted to put a sign up in Firemen's Park where there are 2 posts already erected. They would like to put up a sign that would read something like, Laurel's Tourist information and Museum, 1 block North and 1 block West. He would like to know if this can be done. After a discussion it was suggested that Roy get with Jim to work out the details, etc. Page 2 CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING, April 4, 1989 • Bob suggested that the Committee reports be reviewed before the Council meeting.
