Bob distributed the Mayors status report dated May 16, 1989.

Bob mentioned that the City received a response from the
Highway Department regarding the highway south of Laurel.
The Cemetery position has been filled. Brad Krause was hired
and he started Monday.
The Temporary position at the Landfill has been filled.
Harvey Hazen started Monday. The Landfill will be opened 6 days
a week, 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., beginning this week.
Jim received an official letter from the Department of Fish,
Wildlife and Parks regarding the Thomson Park grant. The
meeting with them is now set for June 9th at 3:00 p.m.
Discussion regarding solid waste.

Discussion regarding the maintenance at Murray Park. The
dandelions are very bad, but it has been too wet and cool for
spraying.
Discussion regarding barbecue grills in Thomson Park. The
original ones were cut wrong and are being done over. The pieces
are being cut at a machine shop and City employees are putting
them together. They will install them in Thomson Park first,
then put a few in Riverside Park.

There has been a request by a City employee to rent pasture land
at the Sewer Plant. This will be put on the agenda for the next
regular Council meeting.
The Budget/Finance Committee is in the process of reviewing
1989-90 budgets. Meetings are scheduled for May 17, 23, 24 and
25.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
