Collins Chuck Dickerson D.L. McGillen Jim Worthington Don Hackmann Cal Cumin Bob briefed the Council on the diesel spill at M.R.L.. Some found its way to the sewer system. Jim Worthington reported that M.R.L. has helped us and will pay any extra costs involved. They have taken full responsibility. Phil Curry was involved in an accident with his pickup (19$0 1-ton Ford). The person who hit him did not have any insurance. Our property insurance carrier will pay us $2,100 ($3,100 less $1,000 deductible). The Police Department is still investigating an accident involving a chase and the person was injured in an accident, apparently at no fault of ours. Billings is selling some used garbage trucks that can be converted for hauling large containers to the Billings Landfill. Bids will be opened on March 21st. Dave and Jim attended a meeting today with Yellowstone County regarding the Solid Waste District. Bryan Fischer has been recommended for Captain of the Laurel Police Reserves and Ed Jutz has been recommended for Lieutenant. The City Clerk reported that he has not received any letters 40 of interest for the alderman vacancy. 4.01 Page 2 City Council Committee of the Whole meeting of March 6, 1990 Discussion regarding kids making U-turns on the street going by the Pizza Hut and the possibility of installing U-turn signs. Cal Cumin reported that there is a problem of overcrowding in the women's state prison at Warm Springs and that a new one will probably need to be built sometime in the future. He is involved with working on a proposal for this area. Joe Bradley explained the options to take on the Cantrell property at the public hearing tonight.
