Darrell McGillen reported that something should be done with the Merchants apt.
& garage. It has been vacant for 2 years and has been condemned. Darrell is
afraid that with winter coming on someone is going to get inside and start a fire.
He would like to see the buildings either boarded up or torn down. There are
other similar structures like this in town and something should be done with them.
40 This matter referred to Jim Worthington and Joe Bradley to check the code book
for the laws on the abatement of dangerous buildings.
Discussion regarding the purchase of a new ambulance and whether or not there
could ever be a bond issue for something like this..
Bruce Teeters reported that the Railroad Crossing at 1st ave and South 4th St. has
been repaired and they did a really nice job. He would like to see a letter sent
to the Railroad thanking them for their cooperation in repairing the R.R. Crossing
on South 4th St.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
