CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE

Bob Gauthier distributed the police activity report for August.

Dave distributed a folio regarding the proposed garbage rate
increase, which is on the agenda tonight.
Bob Gauthier reported that the Union is going through a series
of bids for jobs within the City. At the present time no one is
sweeping the streets.
Bob Gauthier also reported that he has established a Fourth
of July committee, which he will appoint at tonight's Council
meeting.
There is a resolution tonight to transfer money from water
deposits to water operating cash..
There has been a city employee cutting weeds on a complaint
basis. Discussion regarding spraying for weeds on City property.
There was a suggestion to use the oil distributor and spray the
weeds with hot water on City property.
Bob Graham suggested developing South Pond for boating. Miles
City has a pond smaller than ours and they have been successful.
Lonnie Kellogg inquired about designating 2 handicap parking
spaces in front of the log cabin on main Street. Jim Worthington
will check into this.

40 Don Hackmann mentioned an article in the recent Montana
Taxpayer Newsletter regarding Constitutional Initiative 55
(The Montana Trade Charge). A copy was put in all of the mail
boxes and also distributed to Department Heads.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
