Bob Gauthier distributed the police activity report for
September.
Bob suggested that evervone review the correspondence and
committee reports before tonight's meeting.
Discussion regarding the Butler claim of sewer damage to their
house at 616 Cottonwood. Jim Worthington briefed the Council on the
problem. Jim's opinion is that he thinks most of the problem is
ground water causing deteriorationof the walls, etc..
Bruce Teeters asked what was being done about Jim Martin's
apartments and Jim Worthington gave an update.
The City Clerk reported on the Montana League of Cities and.
Towns Convention held in Bozeman on September 20th and 21st.
Dave Michael reported that the transfer site was opened, today.
Bob Gauthier said that there isn't any room in the landfill
and. we are trying to move out of it in phases. We were hauling the
garbage to Billings first, then we are opening the transfer site.
More containers will be needed and we will be going out for bid
on a truck to haul containers. For now we will be renting a
truck from the City of Billings.
Discussion on renting or buying a scraper to level the landfill
and prepare it for seeding next spring. It appears that the best
solution is to buy a used one for about $9,500. Renting could run
• into more money, especially if there is bad weather or the crew
is needed elsewhere.
