Collins Bob Graham Lonnie Kellogg Others present: Mike Atkinson Jim Worthington Vicki Metzger. Dave Michael Don Hackmann The mayor suggested that the Council members review the minutes before the Council meeting. There are two Resolutions on the agenda tonight regarding water and sewer rate increases. It has been 4 years since the last water rate increase and 3 years since the last sewer rate increase. No rate increase for garbage at this time. The Committee recommended to defer some expenditures until a later date. The General Fund still has restrictions established by I-105. The swimming pool is scheduled to open on Sunday or Monday. The Mayor has not received anything from the Police Commission regarding the selection of a Police Chief. He would like to have someone appointed by July 1st. Jim Worthington reported that due to the home building going on within the City we are running out of lots that have utilities on them. He said that there is someone interested in buying one of the City lots over by Betty Avenue. Discussion regarding this and other development in that same area. Bob Gauthier suggested that if you have a chance, go and look at the Maryland Lane project. 0 The City has started on chip sealing and asphalt overlay. J , Page 2 City Council Committee of the Whole meeting of June 4, 1991 We have someone to take care of restrooms at Russell Park and Thomson Park. The hours for the restrooms are 8:00 a.m. to darkness, including week-ends. Ron Marshall questioned what has been done regarding the junk around Fred Winters' property. Bob will check with Joe again. Donna Kilpatrick reported that in the alley of 7th Avenue and 6th Street there is a wood pile that should be checked. Rodents live there and people are afraid that the pile is going to fall. Bob Graham reported about the junk around the property behind the high school. Discussion regarding the junk on the Redman property on Valley Drive, which is in the county. Bob Graham reported about the junk on the property on the west side of the mini-mall and behind the Locomotive Inn. L.D. Collins reported that regarding the Redman property, • he-has been pumping sewer water into the Big Ditch and that the County should be notified. Discussion regarding the drainage problem at 302 4th Avenue. Bruce Teeters reported that Fred Winters was cited for having washing machines, TV's, & etc. outside his business and they are back out there again.
